I asked my guy friend how he sees makeup, and here is his answer:
Makeups. I've been seeing a lot of girls my age, and what i mean by a lot is literally almost every girl that i know wears make up. There's a lot of make up products that are available in the market, and they are affordable, plus add the fact that there's also a ton of make up video tutorials on youtube, so everyone has an access on how to put on a makeup. As a young kid back then, i'm so curious on why a lot of people are induldged on putting on such product that takes a lot of time to prepare. All I know back then is that, when my mom puts on a makeup, that means I am going to be late on school whenever she's going with me. It irritates me, because I dont really get why they have to put so much time on such a thing that I dont even understand how that thing will make you flawless or something. But then, things started to change when I became a high school student. Back when I was on 7th Grade, I noticed that there's a few girls who's doing the same thing my mom is doing. I know that they are putting makeups on because they do it inside the room, they have their own pocket sized mirrors. So for me, again as a young boy, I said to myself that what they are doing is a waste of time. But as years pass by, I understand the essense of putting a makeup, and why it is important. I knew the importance, because I know someone who really loves putting makeup. At first, I just thought that it's cute, like wow, this girl is already pretty, but she still really wants to put makeup on because she wants to put makeup on. At this time, i just thought that makeup is for like someone who has blemishes and they would like to hide it or makeups are for celebrities only because duh, they are celebrities and they are required to put makeup on. As months passed by, I realized that she truly loves putting makeup on, it's not just a hobby, rather it's like her passion. Yes, everyone would agree with me that this girl that I am talking about is already pretty, without her makeup on, I told her that a lot of times, but she really loves putting makeup on her face. So I asked her, 'Why do you like putting makeup on your face?' She answered with a simple but yet understandable answer 'Because I want to, it makes me feel more beautiful'. From then on, I truly understand what's the essense of putting a makeup. For me, now as a teenager, makeup is the way of expressing one's identity. It is also a way of making one's self make more feel confident, and feel more beautiful. Yes, it will take u a lot of time to wait for your mom, or your girlfriend, or your wife to finish her makeup, but support them. Support them because putting makeup makes them feel confident. It makes them feel more beautiful. And in that way, they could express theirself. There's nothing wrong with putting on a makeup. And as a man, I think there's nothing wrong with a man who would like to wear a makeup. It will make them feel nice, so why discourage them when u could just give them support? Makeup is a product, that would help you express you who you are. Wearing makeup i like a tradition now. Only few people can go out without even putting on a lipstick. Makeups, there's nothing wrong with them. It's not a waste of time. It will make the person who had them feel more confident, thus making them joyful and making them more beautiful.
